Kuwano Boats was founded in 1868. We are the only boat builder in Japan. More than half of the employees have rowing experience. So we know the joy of rowing well. Our mission is to support the oarsman for the spread of rowing in Japan and Asia.

Corporate History

Kuwano boats was established in 1949, in operation since 1868 for manufacture of the rowing boats, the yachts and the passenger ships. In 1978, Katata factory started running.
At the same time, it became a company specializing in rowing boats.
We made FRP shell from 1986. A1 is our flagship model. We are confident in accuracy and quality of manufacturing. A1 model won the medal at the Asian Games and the Asia junior rowing championships. In 2012, Japan national team used the A1 model at the World junior rowing championships.

Location

Our factory is located close to the Lake Biwa that is the biggest lake in Japan. This location is convenient for going to Osaka and Kyoto. The View of Lake Biwa is also great. FISA World Rowing Tour was held in 2011.
